Lifestyles beyond borders

This morning in Miyazu, while enjoying a croissant a friend brought me, I realized how extraordinary our times are.
Just thirty years ago, such a breakfast in a small Japanese countryside town would have been unimaginable.
Today, in just a few hours, one can experience the lifestyle of Paris, New York, Marrakech, Venice, or Athens.
Even more impressive: these lifestyles are now within reach right where we live.
At Maison Julien, we serve French bread baked by an artisan in Jiyugaoka, Tokyo, and traditional Camembert imported from France.
I am grateful to have helped introduce the French art of living in Japan back in the 1990s, and to continue this journey today through Maison Julien.
